Ivan Latyshev is a record producer and DJ with more than 10-years experience, having grown up in Russia's cultural epicentre of St Petersburg. Developing a love for deep house, the young producer has been releasing his perfectly-realised club tunes on labels such as Toolroom, and now provides us with a second outing on Dessous Recordings. The Art of Flying EP presents two original tracks and a pair of remixes of the lead cut. The original 'Art of Flying' is quite a statement - a jazzy, swingy beat introduces the track, before solidifying around punchy 4 / 4 groove. Restless synths drift in and out resulting in a track that is both exceptionally funky and deeply wonky - topped off with a killer spoken word vocal. The ever-dependable Eddie Fowlkes steps up on remix duties and supplies a more jacking interpretation, adding a filthy bassline on his Fly Mix. Luca and Stefano met in early 2000 and began DJing and producing house music together. After years working behind the scenes and studying music, they started their own project ‘Souldynamic’ - the fusion of their love of soul music and underground beats. Their tracks and remixes are regularly played by the kinds of DJs and artists who inspired them - Joe Claussell, Ron Trent, Louie Vega, DJ Spen, Tony Humphries, Kerri Chandler etc and in 2014 Souldynamic topped the Traxsource.com charts at #16 for Best Soulful Artist of the year. NYCs finest DJ Spinna comes through on Local Talk with an epic release that might surprise those of you expecting a more traditional soulful house workout. This time Spinna went out of his comfort zone with a deep warehouse journey that works equally well in dark European house clubs or at the Shelter in NYC. ”TB or not TB” got that perfect blend of space darkness, analogue synths and that old school house thump. Initially it’s quite raw and simplistic but the true magic of this track begins halfway in (be patient!). If there ever was a journey track, this is the one! But we’re not done, on the flip Spinna also comes through with a warm and melodic deep house jam destined for those very last small hours. Oh btw.that analogue bassline got that extra.thang!!
